The Kartepe Summit Convenes on the Theme of Migration

The Kartepe Summit, which is hosted by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in October every year in Kartepe and covers key social and political topics that affects the whole world and our country in particular, is getting ready this year to address another issue that has a profound impact on humanity.

Bringing together prominent national and international figures between the dates of October 26th and 28th, this year's Summit will focus on "MIGRATION, REFUGEES and HUMANITY".

Every year, the main topic of the Kartepe Summit covers subjects that closely touch the world and, by extension, Turkey, and concern humankind and humanity. Aiming to become a global summit where global crises and cooperation opportunities are discussed by prominent figures of all fields, the Kartepe Summit last year explored the theme "Global Coup Scheme" with the attendance of 187 experts from 27 countries, including names like Gunter Verheugen, İbrahim Kalın, Numan Kurtulmuş. At the end of the Summit, the declaration text titled "A Call for International Solidarity Against Coups" comprising of 33 assessments and propositions was presented to the Office of the United Nations Resident Representative to Turkey and the world public.

The Summit is getting ready to take a closer look at another global issue this year with the participation of numerous scientists, academics, intellectuals, politicians and members of the media from across Turkey and the world. An international meeting of great scientific and philosophical qualities that diagnoses and produces solutions for the macro problems of the world, the Kartepe Summit's title for this year is: "MIGRATION, REFUGEES AND HUMANITY".

The Kartepe Summit 2018 program will feature 2 conferences, 2 opening panel meetings, 2 workshops, 22 panels, and 11 academic sessions and events that will revolve around the topic of Migration and Refugees and each of them will thoroughly discuss the issue from a different perspective. The results of the Kartepe Summit 2018, where the notions of "Migration and Refugees" will be reviewed from a broad perspective, will be composed into a declaration as in the last year and officially shared with many policy and decision making organizations around the world, the United Nations being in particular.

Applications for the academic seminars of the Kartepe Summit 2018, which has already attracted a great deal of attention from both national and foreign intellectuals, scientists, politicians and media members, will be available until 17 September 2018.
